Techniques: Paper Flower Quilling Tool Techniques and Paper Windmills

Materials
Square Card Blank
Flower Die
Pink/Red Paper
Red and white ribbon
Wooden stick
String/Buttons

Happy Birthday
1.Using the square card, score from the top left hand corner down to the bottom right hand corner and
fold. This will create your card shape.
2. Cover each section of the card with backing paper.
3. Cut out all the toppers, sentiments and embellishment from the craft sheets.
4. Cut out mini paper bunting and fix along the left hand side of the card, attaching with foam pads.
Using the string make two little bows and fix on either side of the bunting.
5. Cut out your topper and wrap a piece of ribbon around the base as shown.
6. Make a windmill: Cut out a square measuring 4.5cm x 4.5cm using your matching backing
paper. Cut diagonally to the centre. Put a piece of double sided tape in the centre, then fold in
every other section to create a spiral effect. To finish fix a button in the centre, and a wooden
stick behind.
7. Attach the main topper onto the triangle part of the card using double sided tape or craft glue.
8. Make some flower embellishments: Using a flower die, cut out and make up flowers (see
instructions below). Fix them on a sentiment using craft glue. Fix the sentiment in front of your
topper using foam pads. This will act as a stopper and hold your card up. Add more flowers
around the stopper as you wish.
Cut out the flower shape using your die cutting machine. Thread the front of the flower onto the quilling tool as shown.
Twirl the flower at a medium tension until you reach the end. Release a little then secure in place with a little glue on the base.

Techniques: Stamping and Distress Inks

Materials
6 inch Kraft Card Blank
Your choice of colouring medium
Black Ink Pad
Distress ink in at least two or three shades of yellow/light brown
Sheet A4 Card
Paper Trimmer
Scissors
Glue
Foam Pads

Thinking of you
1. Cut the sheet of A4 card to fit the front of your card blank, leaving a small gap around all the edges.
2. Using the lightest of your choice of Distress Ink – only ink the single whole sunflower and stamp all over the white card. Do not keep re-inking, which means you will get some lighter images and some darker – this adds to the finished, faded look. Once you have several sunflowers in the lightest colour, swap for the next colour and do the same again. Finally using the darkest colour, just stamp ‘off the edge of the page’; so that you only have part sunflowers which frame your card.
3. Using black ink, stamp the Sunflower and a sentiment onto white card. Colour the stamped image, remember to create depth and dimension by making the centre of the flowers and leaves darker. Once coloured cut out the main flower image.
4. Using black ink again, stamp the Sunflower onto the middle of your distressed background card (from step 2) Then take your coloured and cut stamp image (from step 3) and fix this on top with foam pads lining it up to the stamp image on the card.
5. Attach this square to the front of your Kraft card blank, using double sided tape or craft glue.
Experiment with different techniques to create variations of this card! Above we have used a small section from one of the stamps to create a repeat crackle effect border, then repeated steps 3 and 4 to create the dimensional flower for the main feature.

Techniques: Water Colour Pens

Watercolour pens are ideal for painting details that are difficult to achieve when using a brush and by using the pens in conjunction with your regular watercolour paints the design possibilities are endless.

Materials
A4 Colouring Sheet
A4 White Card x 2
1 x black card
Ribbon
Square Rose Card
1. Cut down two sheets of A4 white card to 20cm square. (add an extra 1cm tab on one of the squares). Attach together to create a large square card blank.
2. Colour your chosen image and cut from your magazine. Trim your image to 18.5 cm square and back onto a piece of coordinating card leaving a small even gap. Attach your topper to the front of your card blank with double sided tape or glue.
3. Create a bow from a coordinating piece of ribbon and attach the top left hand side of the card as shown.

When using Watercolour Markers you also have the option to apply water with a regular brush after you
have applied the colour to the paper. Adding the water allows you to spread the pigment and achieve a
more natural ‘watercolour’ effect to your work allowing you to give beautiful depth to the designs you
are colouring.
Materials
A4 Colouring Sheet
2 X A4 sheets of black card
Ribbon
Wall Hanging
1. Once you have coloured your A4 design cut the sheet from your magazine.
2. Trim your design down slightly and back onto a coordinating sheet of A4 card leaving a small even
gap as shown.
3. Cut out a strip of ribbon and attach to the top centre back of the card in a loop as shown using craft
glue or double sided tape.
4 Fix your second sheet of A4 card over the first sheet of card on the back using double sided tape or
craft glue. This will help keep the loop of ribbon secure so you can hang the design. It will also hide the
ends of the ribbon on the back! You can now hang up your new piece of artwork!

Techniques: Print Magic Fun!

Print Magic is an ultra fine embossing powder, that when heated transforms into a beautiful glittery sheen on your projects. By using an embossing pen you can highlight any areas you wish on a project. Your powder will then only stick to the desired areas! Follow the simple steps below and have a go!
Materials
Versa Mark Ink Pad or Embossing Pen
Card design (topper, paper)
Heat Tool
1. Use an embossing pen to highlight any areas of your chosen image that you want to add the print magic to.
2. Pour the ultra fine Print Magic over your image and tip off any excess. Pour the excess powder back into the jar.
3. Heat from the top with a heat tool until the powder has melted. This add a beautiful shine to your projects. Visit Debbi Moore TV for a step by step print magic video!
If you want to cover larger areas simply use a clear Versa Mark Ink Pad instead of an embossing pen!
